Within the last two weeks, I became momintheusa{.net}. As a result, I began making sure that all of the subscriptions reflected the change, trying to make it as smooth a transition as possible. It. did. not. happen that way.
I attempted to update the RSS through Feedburner and received an error message. As much as I tried to search for a solution, I could not find one. Then I received another error message - that my file size was too large. I searched for a solution to that and found one. Finally! I was able to move on. I was happy that I was finally able to input information in Feedburner and not receive an error message. The next day, I checked my blog to see the .net {instead of .blogspot.com} and my readers were almost all gone! I had gone from over 200 subscribers to 20. I'm not even sure what to say after that. I do not know how to get the reader count back up. The fact that I lost 90% of my readers baffles me and I do not know how to fix it. This is one of those occasions where I should have subscribed to my own blog to know what happened. Needless to say, I am a subscriber now. This is all part of the maintenance that I recently read about.
If anyone can help me, please leave me a comment or use the contact form and let me know.

I logged in to my blog, as I do every morning, and there it was - a pending comment. It stated that someone had stopped by, left a comment AND become a GFC member. How exciting! And thank you.
It got me to thinking about my very first GFC member. I know I don't have that many members, but the first stayed with me, especially since she writes about FOOD, glorious food. My first GFC member was Ann at Sumptuous Spoonfuls. I have a love/hate relationship with her blog. I love it because it's about food and the pictures are so magnificent. I walk away with a growling belly every time. My immediate thought is to run to my local market to pick up the ingredients and ehem impress my husband with my newly-found skills. (That's the hate part.) Sadly, my husband knows that's not my origination, but the end result would please him nonetheless - my belly stops growling.
Do you remember your first subscriber? Didn't it feel great to not be zero anymore? Someone was actually subscribing. My little blog is growing one lovely member at a time. Stop by and tell me about your first member. Become a member of our community.
