11 Maternity Wardrobe Basics Made in the USA

CONGRATULATIONS!  Expecting a new baby envelopes a new Mama and Papa with so many emotions.  Once the elation of an ever-changing life settles, the preparation begins and so does the unsettling feeling in Mama's mid-section.  To help ease some of the adventure into the world of pregnancy brain, here is a list of some basic maternity wardrobe must-haves, all made in the USA.

1.  Wrap dress

3.  Cardigan: A maternity cardigan is more practical during the winter since you will be covering up more than any other season.  Otherwise, you might be able to get away with your pre-pregnancy cardigan.
4. Yoga Pants: Comfort, comfort, comfort!


5.  The Ultimate Maternity Belt:  The belt provides support for lower back pain - and you will get it.  (Think yoga cat pose)
6.  Maternity Jeans - Boot Cut: These complement any body type.  The boot-cut balances out your glowing mid-section.
7.  Maternity Belly Band: When you're in the home stretch of your ever-expanding bump, this Belly Band acts as an extender to your top when everything doesn't seem to fit anymore.
8.  Belly Bandit Tummy Wrap: Great for postpartum use.
9. Stockings / Tights: They help with swelling and tired legs and prevent varicose veins.  Remember no knee-high socks or stockings.
10.  Maxi Dress: A maxi dress forgives all, even during the last trimester when leg-crossing is both a near-impossibility and a no-no.
11.  Comfortable [Flat] shoes: A pair of sneakers can be included in the choice for comfortable shoes, especially for swelling feet.  If sneakers are not an option for you, try these Oka b Taylor Flats.

Fall is officially upon us and so is the addition of some fall fashion into our wardrobes.  Creating a board like this helps me to visualize actually looking like this.  I love the idea of adding accessories to update a wardrobe, while maintaining some beautiful staples. 

One trend this season is the addition of something in Emerald Green, so I added the cuff.  It makes a statement and is still practical for every day use.  A staple in every fall and winter wardrobe is a high-quality boot and scarf.  Let's face it.  A great boot makes the season so much better and this organic scarf adds a bit of panache to the ensemble.  

From the days of old, being presentable, even for a stay-at-home mom, seems like a trend worth adding back into the daily routine.  Here is an outfit that brings out the lady in you without being too fussy.  Best of all: all of the items pictured here are Made in the USA.

You know what I just noticed on their website?  In the customer reviews, the customers post pictures of themselves wearing the clothes, along with their measurements. That's great because then you get a better perspective of how the clothes will fit you.

This coat is also on sale.  A well-structured coat makes any lady look absolutely stunning.  I adore a coat that fits me just right.  I've had some poorly fitting coats and it is not comfortable or pretty.  Whether going to work or the grocery store, wear something that makes you feel gorgeous.  The reviews on this coat reflected all of the above.  I hope your experience does too.

Little Not-So-Black Dress

Every woman knows that a little black dress completes the list of wardrobe must-haves.  Defy the rules: Be the diamond among the black dresses.

PSA: Because your best girlfriend may or may not tell you and your spouse or date may be afraid to:  Some dresses more than others require certain.......how shall we say it - undergarments.  The undergarments that lock and load everything properly, as in no panty lines, a smooth mid-section and your top half accentuates not steals the show because they were getting ready to pop out at any minute.  Wear a dress that is your ACTUAL size, not your PERCEIVED size.  You will look beautiful and thinner.  Squeezing into something too small will show everything that you don't want to show and we don't want that to happen and quite frankly, we don't want to stare at it.
