Lyla walked up to me and wanted me to put on some music. I put in one of her kid CDs. She said she wanted her "fast song." It took me a few minutes to figure out which song she was talking about. As it turns out, it's a song on a CD that my husband bought a while ago - Clancy's Tavern by Toby Keith.
For those of you that know the CD, you will probably think the song is "Made in America," which is a great song. Silly enough, it is not that song. The title of the song is "Beers Ago". (Note: She thinks the song is "Milks Ago" or at least that's what we keep singing and telling ourselves.) Anyways, I don't know if I should be embarassed that my daughter's favorite fast song has beer in the title or just laugh it off and enjoy the moment. In all honesty, it does have a catchy beat to it. We found ourselves having to get up and dance......I decided to just enjoy the moment.
Note: The following is the original post that I had written prior to my hiatus, but did not post.
We were looking for music to listen to and came across a song called, "Made in America," by Toby Keith. I admit the song title drew me in since my days are usually filled with toddler tunes. My husband liked the song enough to buy the CD.
Toby Keith equips his listeners with the words to his songs in the CD. For those who love karaoke (or just want the lyrics to sing along with), this CD is for you. AND it was printed in the USA. Way to go, Mr. Keith!
The reason I had to check was because I remember a while back, the then-GOP candidates were selling t-shirts to raise funds for their campaigns. The shirts were being checked to see if they were Made in the USA and some of them were not - ironically enough. I respected the fact that Toby Keith sang a song called, "Made in America" and the CD is printed in the USA. If you get a chance, listen to the song. It's a beautiful song. I hope you enjoy it. Even Lyla requests "Ame-ica."
