Small Business Saturday®

Pledge your support for Small Business Saturday®

The 2nd annual Small Business Saturday® is a day dedicated to supporting small businesses on one of the busiest shopping weekends of the year.  On November 26, we’re asking millions of Americans to Shop Smallsm at their favorite local stores and help fuel the economy. When we all shop small, it will be huge.

Pledge to shop small on Nov 26

Here's what is defined as a small business, in case you're like me and wonder:

SBA defines a small business as a concern that is organized for profit; has a place of business in the U.S.; operates primarily within the U.S. or makes a significant contribution to the U.S. economy through payment of taxes or use of American products, materials or labor; is independently owned and operated; and is not dominant in its field on a national basis. The business may be a sole proprietorship, partnership, corporation, or any other legal form.

We all have that favorite mom and pop shop, whether it's clothing, hobbies or food.  Here's a day that we can purposefully show our support for them and the people they employ.  Find Made in the U.S.A. tags and do a double duty.  Remember that the purchase you make today may be the job you save tomorrow.  I'm curious to know.  When I go to my local mom and pop shop, I wonder what it would take for them to hire one more person.  Ask your favorite shop's owner.  Ask how many of their products are made in America and what it would take to add one more brand to their inventory.
Can that conversation make the difference?  I would love to hear (read) from you.
